MORAG BROWNLIE

Director / Producer/ Editor Morag Magnolia Brownlie
Morag is a Film maker, Choreographer, Multi- disciplinary artist, Costume Designer and Performer.
“Visionary Auteur” (Theaterview) Brownlie has written, directed and produced three short films, the first two, Rover and Mes Mer … screened internationally at A-list festivals, and at home here in New Zealand. Perfect Storm is her latest short film, and is a response to the unique experience of 2020.
Morag was nominated in the Nokia New Zealand film awards, as Director for Mes Mer… This film was distributed throughout Europe for close to a decade by Inter-film Berlin. Mes Mer… also played at cinemas in New Zealand before There is Something about Mary and The Big Lebowski.

Morag worked in the film industry on feature films, commercials and TV series Hercules and Xena. As talent, choreographer, and in Wardrobe and Art Departments.
Morag poured her vision into the acclaimed, large-scale event World of Wearable Art for over a decade, this show was often televised. She held the roles of Visuals Director, Artistic Director, Principal Choreographer, Co-Script writer and Music selection. Wearable Art shows she worked on received New Zealand Tourism awards.
PHILL PRENDEVILLE
Director of Photography &Landscape stills
Phill has 30 years experience in film and television as a Director, DOP and Producer. He has a long list of credits and collaborators.
Phill now concentrates on shooting and directing documentaries and creating artworks through his photography.
His photography, near where he lives on the West Coast inspired this project, and became our location.
Phill held his first solo photography exhibition at the Allpress gallery in 2020.
Phill is involved in humanitarian work in Africa. Supporting education of young African woman that have suffered serious trauma.
SEAN DONNELLY
Composer
Sean is one of New Zealand's finest songwriters, winning major awards. He has composed music for numerous films, commercials and TV series including the Almighty Johnsons and the Deadlands.
In 2013 Sean won the Taite music award for his album Electric Wasteland.
Sean composed a beautiful soundtrack for Morag’s 2nd short film ROVER, which played in the New Zealand International film festival and abroad.
Sean won a New Zealand Music TUI Award with Angus Mc Naughton for Best Production on the SJD album Southern Lights.
Other Albums include: Songs from a Dictaphone, Dayglo Spectres & Elastic Wasteland.
His bands include: SJD, The Bellbirds with Sandy Mill, Victoria Kelly and Don McGlashan. Sean is also part of Neil Finn’s Pyjama Club project.
SAM EVANS
Second Unit DOP and production stills

With 20 years of experience in creative industries under his belt, photography has been a natural progression for Sam.
His production design & art direction work on commercials, films & TV series has honed his eye and allowed him to develop his talents.
A West Coast local, living at either Kare kare or Piha, capturing moments in time at the beach has become a passion of his. He knew the location like the back of his hand.
You can also find Sam on the other side of the camera as an Actor, or in the DJ booth for radio, or live events, where he is known as Sam E.
HARRIET THOMPSON
Visual Effects
Visual effects artist/animator Harriet Thompson has a BA in Fine arts (film major) and a BSC in Mathematics.
Harriet had 5 years working as a News and Current Affairs Editor at Television New Zealand. She was a key member of multimedia company Terabyte Interactive, pioneering their video department.
Since then she set up her own one-woman business Synthetik providing motion graphics, animation and special effects. Harriet has worked on many interesting projects such as title sequences for feature film and TV series, museum installations, events visuals and music videos.
Harriet worked together with Morag Brownlie on her short film Rover and visuals for World of Wearable Art.
SOFIANE TIB
Sound
Multi-disciplinary audio professional Sofiane Tib did the sound mix, design and foley for Perfect Storm.
He has worked on numerous professional TV productions as a sound recordist.
Sofiane is French. He has mixed the sound for many short films, trailers, commercials and arts projects.
You can also find him at live events as a sound engineer and as DJ Facettes.
In the electronic music world, he mixes, records and produces.
Sofiane has also held roles as an educational advisor, program developer, and academic trainer.

SAM TOZER
Studio Director of Photography
Sam Tozer is an accomplished Director of Photography and Post Production supervisor. He specializes in producing high-resolution, large-scale, large-format installations and exhibitions for artists delivering their work internationally. He has worked for many years with Lisa Reihana including on her work "In pursuit of Venus" for exhibitions around the world and representing New Zealand at the Venice Biennale.
Sam is currently mentoring for the 2022 Digital Fellowship Program organised by CNZ in partnership with the Australian Council for the Arts.
PETER BARRET
Colourist and Online Owner of RPM pictures
Peter Barret has been on both sides of the camera and screen as and actor, director and now an online expert and colourist.
Most recently he onlined "Savage" a stunning feature film and has worked on many commercial and artistic projects.
ANGUS MC NAUGHTON

Mastering engineer and composer Angus is a winner of many engineering music awards. Having master for many of New Zealands top bands and artists. Angus composed the music for Morags first film Mes Mer...
